There was a girl at camp from Israel. I will never forget her excitement for "smooties" on a field trip to Algonquin Beach. Everyone looked at her weird, no idea what smooties were. She was talking about smoothies, but Hebrew does not include any words with TH.
it might depend on what kind of accent/dialect you're speaking, but i'm from california and i pronounce those words as the book describes.
ReplyDeleteAWWWWWWWW, I finally understand it! I was unclear about the term "unvoiced." My voice does not come out until the "ird" part of "third." I get it.
